The difference between T20 and T20S is the gimbal. The Jumper T20 V2 comes with the hall sensor gimbals, while the T20S V2 comes with the upgrade RDC90 gimbal which uses the premium ALPS RDC90 sensors.
The Jumper T-20/S radio is distinctive in that it has a novel form factor. Jumper have designed this radio to be as compact as possible, while retaining all of the features you would expect to find in a full size radio like a TX16S, such as full size gimbals; possibly giving you the best of both worlds. What’s more, The T20 is offered at an incredible price point.
The radio features a suite of programmable switches of all types. Allowing for endless programming options and beneficial for both drone and fixed-wing pilots alike. In particular, the 6 on/off buttons on the front of the radio are very handy for controlling flight modes. Jumper even provide a sticker sheet so that you can label their functions. Uniquely found on the T20 are two slider which resembled the engine throttle controls found in an aircraft, again fully programmable!
While the screen on the radio is small, it is OLED so very sharp and bright. We found it perfectly usable and it’s a decision that has allowed the overall size of the radio to stay compact.
The ELRS transmitting module in the T20 is more powerful than most found in compact radios of its type. The ELRS module in the T20 can output up to 1watt power. It can continue operating at high power levels thanks to a built in fan which keeps the ELRS module cool.
By adding a 4in1 multi-protocol module the T20 can also be used with regular 2.4G protocols like Frsky’s ACCST or Spektrum’s DSMX. Furthermore, the T20 can be used with other third party modules, such as TBS Crossfire. The radio has an external XT30 7.4V power output on the back of the radio to power such modules.
The antenna on the radio antenna is moveable. It has two adjustable joints which allow you to orientate it in any direction. Handy for matching the polarisation on your aircraft’s receiving antenna to further enhance reception strength.
The radio is powered from two 18650/21700 cells (not included) and can be recharged via its USB-C connector. Incidentally the USB-C can also be used to connect the radio to flight simulators should you wish to get even more use out of the radio.
